About Me

A very warm welcome to Where the Wifi’s Weak! My name is Lissa, a 28 year old with restless feet and a desire to see the whole world, one country at a time! I created this space as a hub for people like me who want to be inspired daily to travel and live a more adventurous life everyday. On this blog I share experiences, travel tips, lifestyle tips & motivation, DIY projects, recipes and a little from my life back at home.

I grew up in Baltimore but spent my summers on the OBX with my family as a kid. My family also took a trip every year to somewhere new, this is where my passion for adventure began. As I got older I began to realize how big our world really is & that’s when I decided I wanted out of Bmore! I graduated early from high school, was nominated “Most Likely to Never Return”, they had to use a picture of the beach because I was already gone! From there I moved to North Carolina to pursue the typical “American Dream”…college, career, marriage, kids, blah blah blah… During college, I was able to work as a nanny while attending classes and save money every year to go on a trip. Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Belize, Italy, Virgin Islands, Dominican Repubic..the list goes on. After being tired of the same thing in NC, I made the move across the country to California where I spent 4 years exploring all areas from northern to the southern tip of CA. Why I love traveling you ask? I have a passion for learning and helping others. I love to experience new places, new people, local foods, music and more. Every experience of mine with traveling has some way shaped me into who I am today and who I am becoming. So follow along as I live life a little differently than the “American Dream” and lose connection where the wifi’s weak :)) For the sake of your soul, venture out!
